The Core Worlds, also known as the Coruscant Core, the Core systems, or simply the Core, was the area of the galaxy that bordered the Deep Core and contained some of the wealthiest and most prestigious planets.

The Colonies was a region of the galaxy located between the Core Worlds and the Inner Rim. It contained numerous planets. The Colonies sat along major trade routes, and some of them were extremely wealthy.

The Inner Rim, originally known simply as the Rim,[1] was a region of the galaxy located between the Colonies and the Expansion Region. Many civilized planets dotted it's starscape.

The Expansion Region was a region of the galaxy located between the Inner Rim and the Mid Rim. It was home to the Ghost Nebula, and a great many planets.

The Mid Rim was a region of the galaxy located between the Expansion Region and the Outer Rim Territories.

The Outer Rim Territories, also known as the Outer Rim or Outer Systems, was a sparsely populated region of the galaxy located outside the Mid Rim before Wild Space and the Unknown Regions. The largest region in the galaxy, it was home to diverse worlds and rugged, primitive frontier planets.

The Unknown Regions, also referred to as Unknown Space, the Unknown Territories, the Unknowns, and The Chaos by the Chiss, was a region of the galaxy located in the galactic west beyond the Outer Rim. Largely unexplored throughout galactic history, it remained a mystery to space travelers and served as a source of tales and wonders.
